摘要
The renewable energy technologies are developed as a tool for reduction of the climate change as well as the dependence on fossil fuels. These technologies are generally considered as environmentally friendly, nevertheless the impacts of production, installation, operation and final disposal of devices needed for energy conversion cannot be neglected in the total environmental balance indicators. Considering the above mentioned, the use of Life Cycle Assessment method seems to be reasonable in the case of renewable energy technologies. In this paper, the LCA method was applied to assess resource use and other environmental burdens related to entire life cycle steps of solar hot water system for multifamily house. Based on Global Warming Potential method as impact assessment tool, the carbon dioxide payback time was calculated.
