摘要
In this study, a novel optical surface plasmon propagating along a planar metal that contains numerous nanometer-size dielectric particles is discovered analytically. The novel surface plasmon wave results from jumping of dipole resonance of electrons in the metal around individual dielectric particles. The existence of the novel surface plasmon may probably shed some light on various, interesting optical phenomena concerning nanoparticles.
