Microwave assisted synthesis, spectroscopic elucidation and antimicrobial activity of organosilicon(IV) derivatives of thiosemicarbazone

摘要
Organosilicon(IV) complexes with therapeutically relevant ligands (LH)-H-n, where n = 1 to 3, have been synthesized by the condensation of 1,3-dihdyro-3-[2-(phenyl)-2-oxo-ethylidene]-2H indol-2-one, 3-(indolin-2-one) and 1-acetylferrocene with thiosemicarbazide. The ligands and their complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations, IR, UV and H-1 NMR spectral studies. The ligands and their corresponding silicon complexes were screened for their antimicrobial activity on different species of bacteria and fungi and were found active in this respect.
