摘要
The capital city of the ancient Koguryo Kingdom is the first and the only independently existing city in Northeast China included in the World Heritage until now. It is also one of the minority nationalities' world cultural heritage areas in China. Most evidence of this world heritage are located in Ji Ail in the Jilin Province, except for the Wu Nu Mountain City in Hengren county in the Liaoning Province. Nowadays, mass tourism has been developing around the world, so cultural heritage used for tourism development has become a trend. After successfully applying for the world heritage status, the Ran tourism industry has made unprecedented progress. However, many cultural heritage cities that developed tourism had to decide between heritage protection and heritage tourism due to improper or excessive development of tourism. Ji'an's heritage tourism is still in the initial stage of development; at this time, we should understand the direction of development and learn from other heritage sites' experiences so we can develop heritage conservation and heritage tourism harmoniously. This paper analyses the conditions of the tourism development in Ji'an and the mutual relationship between heritage tourism and protection to certify the possibility and necessity of cooperation and harmonious development. The authors provide detailed ways to sustain the development of cultural heritage tourism and heritage protection.
