摘要
The corrosion of asphalt binder in fuel oil can weaken the adhesion performance of asphalt mixtures and cause early distresses in asphalt pavements. In this study, the modified turbidity test and other mechanical performance tests were performed on different asphalt mixtures to evaluate the fuel oil corrosion resistance. Effects of oil immersion time, binder type, and anti-fuel oil corrosion additive content on the fuel oil corrosion resistance and pavement performance were investigated. The fuel oil corrosion and additive improvement mechanisms were finally explained. It is observed that the turbidity test can be used for accurately evaluating the fuel oil corrosion resistance in a cost-effective way. Results obtained from different oil corrosion resistance tests have a good agreement. The SBS modified asphalt mixture cannot maintain the good mechanical performance for a long time after the oil corrosion. The asphalt mixture with an appropriate content of the anti-fuel oil corrosion additive shows an excellent oil corrosion resistance. The reason is that it can retain the coating effect of asphalt film and prevent aromatic compounds from the oil corrosion. Using this additive can also improve rutting resistance and moisture sensitivity. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
