摘要
Biodegradation of high molecular weight polyethylene membrane by white rot fungi, IZU-154, Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Trametes versicolor; was investigated under various nutritional conditions. These fungi significantly degraded polyethylene membrane under the ligninolytic condition. Furthermore, a significant polyethylene biodegradation was obtained by in vitro treatment of polyethylene membrane with partially purified manganese peroxidase (MnP). To our knowledge, this is the first report demonstrating polyethylene biodegradation by fungal and enzymatic treatment.
