摘要
CePd2In is an intermetallic compound with enhanced masses of the conduction electrons and weak antiferromagnetic order developing below 1.23 K. This particular system is interesting because the Kondo temperature is roughly 1 K larger than the Neel temperature, resulting in a close competition between the low-temperature interactions, which can be tuned by means of varying external parameters. Measurements of the electrical resistivity show that the antiferromagnetism is suppressed by a magnetic field of 30 kOe, but under pressure, the antiferromagnetism persists up to 60 kOe and above. This suggests that pressure may somehow unscreen the otherwise weak magnetic moments. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
