摘要：
Proper dietary habits of children crucially determine their growth, development and the prevention of diseases. The paper discusses dietary trends in Slovak population, stresses a significant preventive capacity of proper nutrition in terms of healthy life-style, and presents some research results reflecting the dietary habits of primary school children. The recommendations are based on rational diet principles and emphasize the specific nature of a children-oriented diet.
