摘要
FAIR will deliver p̄ and ion beams with unprecedented intensity and precision to a wide community of physicists studying many aspects of the strong interaction. P̄ANDA is one of the baseline experiments of the new facility aiming at a better understanding of the structure and dynamics of hadrons. It will make use of p̄ annihilating on an internal proton or nuclear target to study strongly interacting particles containing strange or charm quarks. This will allow us to study the transition region between the quarks and gluons of perturbative QCD and hadronic degrees of freedom, a regime of prime interest for a deeper understanding of the strong interaction. © World Scientific Publishing Company.
