QoS control for multimedia application in mobile computing environment

摘要
On mobile computing environment, multimedia application service requests are increasing. In order to provide more quality service for mobile user, some problems such as bandwidths constraint, jitter and delay must be solved. This paper proposes a QoS control scheme to provide quality service for multimedia application in mobile computing environment. The control policy is based on QoS-rate and priority and supports seamless service even at failure of station. In order to implement control strategy, this paper models mobile wireless network environment and designs state information structures about mobile computer, base station and global center. Using the model and structures, this' paper establishes the control procedures and shows its behavior by example. This intermediate research result shows that the proposed control scheme can be one way of the QoS control for multimedia application in mobile computing environment.
