The movement of some or all of a firm's business processes and applications to the Internet is referred to as "Internet migration." Internet migration is the gradual Web-enablement of business processes (Informationweek 1999). Internet migration is unlikely to be a passing fad because the movement is anchored to the enduring diffusion throughout society of Internet-based technology (The Economist 1999).
