Thermo-hydraulic analysis of water-heated once-through steam generator

Thermalhydraulic behaviors of fluid heated once-through Steam generator which is the type planed to be used in integral type water cooled reactor and high temperature gas cooled reactor were modeled and analyzed. As the first step, the steady-state operation characteristics were mainly concerned in the paper. A set of water and steam drift-flux conservatation equations and heat exchange models were chosen as the analysis basis. Heat transfer region of steam generator heat transfer tube was divided into four regions: single-phase subcooled water region, two-phase boiling region, post-dryout mist now region and superheated vapour region. The coupling between the primary side and secondary side of the steam generator was also taken into account. If flow rates and inlet temperatures on both sides are supplied, temperature distributions, heat flux profiles, quality, pressure drop and some uther thermalhydraulic parameters along both sides of the heat transfer tubes can be calculated A PORTRAN computer program SGSTAB has been developed from the models, the calculated steady-state operation results for both sides of the heat transfer tube are reasonably agreement with the test observations. The further modification by means of test results and the unstable boundary analysis are being carried out.
