摘要：
A new species of the Jurassic ammonite genus Cymbites (Metacymbites), C. (M.) fuersichi, is described from the Late Pliensbachian (Domerian) of the Shemshak Formation east of Shahmirzad (north Semnan), eastern Alborz Range of northern Iran. So far it is the first record of the genus from Iran and the southernmost occurrence within the northern Tethys.
