摘要
Online banking is a fast-growing trend in developing countries. It enables people to make banking transactions without going to the bank. Online banking can be performed on any device that is connected to the Internet such as laptop, desktop and mobile phone. Even with this kind of innovation, its growth and convenience, most employees in Mahikeng are still not keen on using online banking due to some reasons including security issues. Mahikeng is the capital city of North West province in South Africa. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect employees' adoption of online banking in Mahikeng. The study strives to understand the factors, as well as the benefits which motivate employees to adopt online banking and their perception towards online banking against traditional banking. Quantitative research methodology was used in line with the philosophy of positivism and deductive reasoning. Questionnaires were circulated to 257 respondents across different government departments in the Mahikeng business district. The findings of this study indicate that most employees have used online banking. The study also found that security factors are the main issue which affects their adoption of online banking.
