摘要
Semi-Classical Monte Carlo approach has been employed to analyse the spin transport behaviour in stand-alone and core shell nanowire (NW) structure composed of dilute magnetic semiconductor (DMS). Three DMS materials, namely, CdMnTe, CdMnSe and ZnMnSe have been used for the study. D'yakonov Perel and Elliot Yafet mechanisms, which are the dominant spin relaxation mechanisms in II-VI semiconductors, have been used to model the spin transport. The dependence of the spin relaxation length on the diameter of the core has been observed and explained. The first order calculations show that core-shell structure offers superior spin transport characteristics when compared to stand-alone NW structure. The results make the core-shell structure a promising candidate for hybrid devices that would involve both charge and spin based transport.
