The composition of Sr-0.9 (Na-0.5 Bi-0.5)(0.1)-Bi4Ti4O15 (SNBT) with excellent piezoelectric properties had been found recently. And basis on that, the effect of cerium modification SNBT-based ceramics was investigated in this paper. The Curie temperature and piezoelectric constant (d(33)) for the 0.50 wt% cerium-modified SNBT-based ceramics were found to be 598 A degrees C and 27pC/N, respectively, which, together with the stable aging performance and thermal annealing properties, demonstrated that the cerium-modified SNBT-based materials are promising candidates for high-temperature applications.
