Self-Organizing Node Deployment Based on Virtual Spring Mesh for Mobile Wireless Sensor Network

摘要
When we construct mobile wireless sensor networks, how to deploy sensor nodes is a critical issue because it affects the cost and monitoring capability of the network We propose a method to dynamically and effectively deploy sensor nodes to an unknown area with obstacles. The way to supply sensor nodes at any time without depending on the formation of sensor network was developed. Attractive forces to edge nodes from virtual walls are added to a simple spring model. Moreover, the method to adjust the natural length of the springs depending on the remaining power is added. As the results, the proposed deployment method could establish the network which maintains higher ratio of area coverage for a longer time supplying the appropriate number of sensor nodes to the sensing area, has a longer lifetime and increases the amount of data transmitted to the sink node compared to the simple spring model.
