User-centered Design Consultation Research

This study focuses on the discussion of "user-centered" design consultation. First, the procedures and methods, current state, development, and reform of design consultation are discussed and a "user-centered" design consultation method - the product quality and quantity and design investigative method - is proposed. Secondly, the current state of design strategy developments in Japan, England, Korea, and so on are analyzed and compared. Finally, a conclusion is presented, including; breaking through the barriers of ideology and pragmatism - proposition of design consultation procedure and method and distinguishing the functional role of the design in the design procedure; and inclusion of "consultation before design" approach required by the designer and user (client) to supply the attribute of opportunity and the breadth of instructive principle.
