摘要
The horizontal ground heat exchanger (HGHE) with slinky-coiled pipes recently has been used as a heat source/sink for geothermal heat pump systems because of the significant lower initial cost. A simplified heat transfer model suitable for engineering design of the slinky HGHEs is developed. The model is based on the one-dimensional transient heat transfer in an infinite medium, considering the influence of the tube length per area and the different effects of longterm mean load and short-term intermittent load. A case study is carried out to design the HGHE size by using the proposed model. Some key factors which influence the performance of the HGHE are also discussed such as the thermal properties of the ground and the pipe length per area.
