A mixture of a zirconium benzyl phenoxide complex and tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane is reported that catalyzes the hydrosilation reaction of carbon dioxide to generate methane via a bis(silyl)acetal intermediate. Copyright © 2006 American Chemical Society.
