Radiative lifetimes of the 5p56p-fine-structure levels of xenon measured by beam-gas-laser spectroscopy

摘要
Lifetime measurements were carried out on the 5p(5)6p-fine-structure levels 2 p(2), 2 p(4), and 2 p(6) of the xenon atom by beam-gas-laser spectroscopy. An accuracy of better than 1% was attained in each case. These benchmark values enable to assess the reliability of predictions of present semi-empirical calculations. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
