Geotechnical engineering education in the United States

This paper summarizes the status of undergraduate and graduate geotechnical education in the United States of America. The paper largely reflects the observations, experiences and opinions of the authors, who have more than 70 years of combined academic experience as geotechnical engineering faculty members in U.S. universities, as well as about 10 years of combined geotechnical experience in countries outside the U.S.
