Ad-hoc reuse through copy-and-paste occurs frequently in practice affecting the evolvabilily of software. This paper summarizes the state of the art in software clone management (detection, tracking, presentation, assessing, removal, changing) and the empirical knowledge we have gained so far In the course of the summary, the paper identifies further research potential.
