摘要
Activity choice behavior plays an important role in travel and residential location choices. Not only the departure time, destination and route choices are directly motivated by the predetermined activities such as shopping or eating, but also the residential location choices are greatly affected by the resident's activity pattern shaped by the activity schedule. In this paper, a combined network equilibrium model is proposed to investigate travel and residential location choices simultaneously for strategic planning purposes. The activity-based approach is adopted to model the residential location and travel choice behaviors. A solution algorithm is presented for solving the combined travel and residential location choice problems. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the merits of the proposed model and the efficiency of the proposed solution algorithm.
