Advanced inspection systems for the automated ultrasonic testing of heavy forgings

摘要：
For increasing automated inspection capacity two new disc inspection facilities and one new shaft inspection facility were installed at Soarschmiede GmbH in the years 2006 until 2007. The mechanical design and the ultrasonic inspection system are presented. The inspection is performed by multiple-channel technique using conventional and phased-array probes. Various data processing tools allow a detailed evaluation of the recorded data. Special test forgings ore used for the qualification of the inspection facilities.
