摘要
B. tabaci insecticide resistance to all the conventional insecticides is now widespread and there are already regional reports of resistance to some of the newer insecticides such as imidacloprid, pyriproxyfen and buprofezin. Localised selection coupled with international movement of infested plant material has grave management implications for industries that receive these pests. Sustainable B. tabaci management requires a combination of, preventing the invasion of the pest and the accompanying resistance genes and viruses, manipulating the regional ecology to prevent continuous host plant availability, use of IPM compatible products especially early in a cropping season and access to a diverse range of insecticides which are matched to crop requirements.
