摘要
The Grandmother is a myth pertaining to various indigenous nations. The present work exposes diverse narrative approaches of this myth, bringing examples of Native American and Native Canadian female authors, who construct their identity and subjectivity in a contemporary debate between Eastern and non-Eastern perspectives, presentifying the grandmother to materialize a dialogical amalgam between tradition and modernity. The aim is to demonstrate how the chosen authors presentify the myth of the grandmother, suturing the mythic past of their nations to their present experiences in the narratives, which will become a cultural legacy both to future indigenous generations and to western readers.
