Development of a Loop Double Knotter for High Pressure Baler Machines

摘要
Higher bale densities, larger bale dimensions and the use of moist material, for example silage, increase the requirements on the binding system and the twine. Therefore it was our objective to develop a knotter which enables the twine to use a higher maximum crack force in comparison with the standard knotter system by enhancing the design of the knots. The new form of the knot increases the tensile force of the twine under comparable conditions and enables higher bale densities. Due to the compact construction it is possible to use 8 instead of 6 knotters on a chamber width of 1,2 m. The knotter is maintenance free (lubrication), this is an advantage of the method of construction.
