摘要
In the paper, the authors present the advantages of the project-based learning on the Web over linear and hypertext-based learning methods. This project work is supported by a Web-based Distance Education System (DES). The main challenge lay in redesigning the Web user interface in order to mimic the classical educational environment, and to improve the education process by implementing options and techniques that would be otherwise hard to implement in traditional teaching systems. The evaluation process proved that this approach in building the DES is suitable when targeting an increase in the efficiency of education. The empirical results showed that the usage of project-based learning increases the level of interactivity and collaboration among the participants of the educational process and facilitates a more efficient learning process. In this way, the approach described here is superior to the both linear and hypertext-based learning methods.
