摘要
Vigorous development and permanent shortening of the innovation cycles forces the manufacturers of all developed countries to continuously work on finding out how to achieve paramount quality of their products within fastest possible. This requires highly price-efficient, long-life and reliable products. Many professionals nowadays are concerned about accomplishment of these values, about successful production, measuring and evaluation of the results. Along with development of products, they are trying to identify ail parameters that are critical for quality. Contemporary furniture must be a harmonious combination of practicality (functionality) and beauty. The very idea of furniture comprises a wide range of products that surround us in our everyday life. Hence, furniture is not an abstraction but a group of real objects, used to organize the space and provide preconditions for comfort during our leisure time and at work. The requirements upon furniture i.e. its practicality is determined best by its being tuned to the purpose. In the studies of furniture production the commonest difficulties are encountered with the upholstered parts where many contradictions are regularly faced. How different the requirements upon such furniture are is evidenced best by variety of the parameters applied in various countries.
