摘要：
The main developments gained over the past 50 years at the Dokuchaev Soil Science Institute in the field of the application of remote sensing (aerial and space survey) data for studying and mapping soils on various scales are outlined. Methods used for the interpretation of remote sensing data, the results obtained, and their application for practical and scientific purposes are discussed.
