摘要
In this paper, near-optimal optical power allocation and layer assignment for layered asymmetrically clipped optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (LACO-OFDM) are investigated. The average electrical power of each subcarrier should be equally allocated via convex optimization in order to obtain the optimal bit error rate performance. The channel capacity of LACO-OFDM with different layers under additive white Gaussian noise serves as the standard to determine the optimal layer number under different signal-to-noise ratio scenarios. Computer simulations have been conducted to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis for the proposed power allocation and layer assignment schemes.
