摘要：
This paper examines the Receptacle in Plato's Timaeus and its engagement with Democritean atomism. The Receptacle is described as a pre-cosmic "container" filled with ambiguous proto-elements that exist prior to the divine creation. I argue that Plato constructs the Receptacle in Democritean terms, portraying metaphorically how materialist cosmology fails to achieve meaningful order.
