摘要
Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) multicarrier modulation is the key technology in wireless communication. However, OFDMA can just get the best performance under strict carrier frequency synchronisation. Furthermore, the rectangular prototype window used in OFDMA modulation has poor spectral power density. To overcome shortcomings in OFDMA, a natural choice is filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) modulation. However, FBMC loses orthogonality and can just have near perfect reconstruction because of the truncated prototype filter length in a useful FBMC structure. The reconstruction errors in FBMC are sensitive to the prototype window. In this study, the authors introduce a new multicarrier modulation scheme that has very low peak to average power ratio (PAPR), and both advantages of OFDMA and FBMC. The authors call it biorthogonal frequency division multiple access (BFDMA). BFDMA has not only perfect reconstruction like OFDMA, but also very low PAPR and much better spectral power density than OFDMA.
