摘要
The use of traditional natural preparations from plant materials for the treatment of various diseases by the majority of people have led to assess the modulating action of plants products when associated with other substances. In the present studs, the effect of curcumin was studied against the sister chromatid exchanges induced by hydrogen peroxide on cultured human lymphocytes. The treatment of 5, 10 and 20 mu M of curcumin with 100 mu M of H2O2 results in a dose dependent decrease in SCEs/cell. Similar results were obtained when the treatment of 5, 10 and 20 mu M of curcumin was given with 200 mu M of H2O2, The results suggest the protective effect of curcumin against the H2O2 induced genotoxic damage.
