Electrocoloring of Li2O-P2O5WO3 glasses

摘要
It was shown that the electrocoloring of lithium phosphotungstate glasses by means of electron injection occurs via the mechanism of compensation of the introduced charge by lithium ions. It was found that the formation of color centers in the investigated systems is accompanied by the formation of lithium tungstate bronzes (LixWO3) on the cathode side. Absorbed water in the form of hydroxyl ions travels in the bulk of the glasses toward the anode (therefore, hydroxyl ions do not contribute to the stabilization of color centers).
