摘要
We calculated the coupling coefficient of laterally coupled distributed feedback (LC-DFB) laser structure with metal surface gratings using both coupled mode theory and beam propagation method. The coupling coefficient of a 3 pm wide LC-DFB laser with 3rd order gratings fabricated by holographic lithograph was estimated as approximately 7.9 cm(-1). Coupling coefficient dependence on structural parameters was also investigated.
