INCLUSIVE EDUCATION AND UNIVERSITY: REFLECTIONS ON INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

摘要
The democratization of the access of all to school education in the last decades of the twentieth century and the entry of new students into educational-institutions, with new demands, generated the need for a reconfiguration of education that looks more subjectivities and differences and a position of search for a paradigmatic rupture, since the current ones have not corresponded to the needs of students, including in higher education. With regard to people with disabilities,it is the responsibility of educational institutions to adapt their learning characteristics to include them and provide them with quality education. Thus, this article is the result of reflections made on a research carried out at the State University of Bahia - Uneb, whose main objective was to analyze how the process of inclusion of students with disabilities in the institution has taken place. In the research, we used as a methodological instrument semi- structured interviews with students with disabilities that served to conclude that there are still many barriers that impede the successful stay of these students at the higher level, especially regarding the physical space and curriculum that many sometimes do not meet their specificities. Thus, this article aims to socialize such reflections and contribute to the search for an education that is effectively equitable, quality and inclusive, especially for people with disabilities.
