摘要
In the final part of this study, the objective was to report on the numerical methodology which reflected the knowledge gathered in the various parts on individual behaviour of bubbles and their effect on the quality of the final glass.((1-3)) This was accomplished by predicting the number density and size distribution of bubbles within the glass melt and at the exit. Accordingly, through use of the proposed numerical model the bubble elimination capacity of a given glass furnace can be measured. As an illustration of the methodology sample numerical results were obtained for a hypothetical furnace with and without air bubbler and electric boosting. The results were discussed to improve understanding of the physical processes involved.
