摘要
Maintaining power quality is being an important task within the operation of the available facility. It is compelling by the quality standards (IEEE-519) to limit the harmonics distortion at suitable intervals. The excessive use of power electronic devices in distribution system has evolved the matter of power quality; it is leading to harmonics generation and in substantial economic losses. Filters approaches are effective and economical technique for harmonics mitigation. This work proposes a novel technique with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) controller for controlling the shunt active filter to mitigate the harmonics in power systems. Harmonics identification methodology and compensation management adopted are incorporated in this work.
