Fuzzy-PI and fuzzy feedforward compound control of variable pitch system

摘要
The traditional PID controller is difficult to reach good performances of a variable pitch control wind power system in a wide range of wind speed with changes momentarily and randomly. To deal with this problem, a strategy of fuzzy - PI and fuzzy feedforward compound control for variable pitch systems is proposed. When the wind speed is above its rated value, the fuzzy feedforward controller can produce a proper feedforward compensation value of pitch angle, together with the fuzzy - PI controller output, to regulate the output power of the generator stable near the power rating. This control scheme enables the system to obtain both good dynamic and good static performance. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively suppress the disturbance of random wind, reduce the overshoot of system, and shorten the settling time of system.
