State reconstruction from discrete partial measurement data

摘要
Discrete sensors, i.e. sensors that are only able to detect when a process variable crosses a certain value are occurring frequently in industrial practice. A particular time evolution of the plant will be recorded as a sequence of state level crossings. The State Reconstruction Problem consists in finding the time trajectory of the plants given the sequence of partial discrete measurements from the sensors. The problem is analysed for the general case. A numerical procedure is proposed and tested on a concrete physical example. Copyright (C) 1998 IFAC.
