摘要
A new intervention was tested to teach self-monitoring skills to long-term urinary catheter users. This intervention is described in detail. Self-monitoring (a component of self-management) involves awareness of what to notice, observations, and simple recordings related to urine flow and associated catheter problems. Self-management strategies were provided, based on the person's initial self-monitoring and catheter-related problems. The intervention was judged feasible. Study participants responded favorably to the intervention and seemed interested in learning more about catheter self-management.
