Photo-induced twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) emission as a probe for microenvironment of poly(aryl ether) dendrimers

摘要
Generation 0-4 poly(aryl ether) dendrimers with p-amino-benzonitrile attached to the core were prepared. Steady-state photophysics of these compounds in various solvents was studied. The results showed that the TICT emission of the probe in the dendrimers dropped abruptly with generation 3-4. This indicates that a higher density core is formed in higher generation dendrimers and that the terminal groups may be inward-folding.
