Peri-Urban Agriculture as a tool of Regeneration: the Agricultural Parks in the City of Reggio Calabria

摘要
The contribution aims to highlight how urban or peri-urban agriculture has an added value in its environmental, landscaping and identity connotation compared to an economic potential that remains a priority. Peri-urban agriculture can rely on an extremely advantageous competitive position in local markets; the small size of demand reduces business risk with easy placement of the product in the distribution network; the company stores, farmers 'markets, consumer networks can do farm-to-fork a strength. The contribution focuses on case study on city of Reggio Calabria, recently included among the metropolitan cities of Italy and with a perimeter of the largest city in Italy. Reggio Calabria still has an important peri-urban agriculture, which traces the contribution new scenarios of research and valorization.
