摘要
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based analysis for vortex tube performance presented in this paper intends to bring out unexplored features. The mechanism of flow and energy separation is analyzed and described. The computational approach has been verified and validated with data mentioned with that of mentioned data by researchers. Parametric studies are carried out by the varying number of nozzles, inlet pressure, inlet temperatures, the ratio between hot end length-to-diameter of the tube, cold orifice diameter, nozzle diameter, etc. Cold mass fractions, coefficient of performances (COP), isentropic efficiencies of the vortex tube have been obtained based on the CFD data. Temperature, pressure, and velocity contours have been presented for vortex tube for various parameters mentioned above.
