摘要
Following the 1995 Hyogoken-nanbu earthquake, JSCE issued proposals on seismic design of civil engineering structures. Among them was design earthquake motion of Level 2 having extreme intensity like near-field motion in the earthquake. This paper outlines the work done by a JSCE task committee to facilitate practical application of the proposed Level 2 motion, which includes redefinition of the word, detailed description about a formulation procedure and trial evaluation of a lower bound of the motion.
