Since 2006 the Czech Republic has been producing bioethanol. First producer was company Agroetanol TTD in Dobrovice. The Czech Republic thanks to the current bioethanol production ranks 9(th) position in production of bioethanol in EU-27. Except Agroetanol TTD, where is bioethanol made from sugar beet, in the Czech Republic is second distillery PLP in Trmice, which processes corn. Czech bioethanol producers have to face negative factors influencing bioethanol production and legislation as well. Ethanol production is not supported by any means, financial securitization of tax storages is necessary, all bioethanol indented for blending or to sell on the Czech market must be denatured with compound agent and securitization of bioethanol export is obliged. On the other hand, very positive is, that the Czech government did not change its target is biofuel programme - blending percentage has not decreased. Excise tax refund shall be established for highpercentage mixtures (E85, E95) in the near future. E85, the next generation fuel, which is mixture of 85% bioethanol and 15% petrol, was launched in the Czech Republic in July 2009.
