This paper describes two simple and rapid procedures for the determination of heptaminol and of both acetylline and benzyl alcohol, using reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography under isocratic conditions and UV spectrophotometric detection. For heptaminol, procedure includes a precolumn derivatizatin by orthophthaldialdehyde in presence of reducing agent, in alkaline buffer. It is specific, linear, accurate (recovery mean = 99.90 +/- 0.44%), reliable (precision = 1.00%) and sensitive (0.007 mg/l in the drug). For acefylline and benzyl alcohol, the procedure uses hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, for an ion-pair technique. It is specific, linear, accurate (recovery means = 99.65 +/- 0.52% and 99.65 +/- 1.10% respectively), reliable (precisions < 1.5%) and sensitive (0.30 mg/l and 0.01 mu l/l respectively, in the drug).
