摘要
The aim of this study was to examine the psychometric properties of the Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire (VVIQ), in a sample of 614 Spanish undergraduates aged from 21 to 39. The factorial exploratory analysis found a model of the VVIQ composed by 12 items structured in 4 factors Moving Space Images (MSI); Familiar Images (FI): Detailed Objects Recall (DOR): Images Creative Skill (ICS), which respectively explained 12.99%, 13.53 %, 12.97% and 12.70% of the total variance. This model was corroborated through confirmatory factorial analysis (CFA), obtaining adequate indexes for adjusting the data. Reliability indexes were obtained for the total scale (alpha = .82) and the four factors (alpha = .72-.82). The scale showed positive and significant correlations between perfectionistic concerns and the MSI and DOR factors. An updated scale of measurement is provided to measure the vivacity of mental images, as well as new scientific knowledge in relation to perfectionism. Keywords: mental image; thought; psychometry; reliability; correlation analysis.
